I’m starting a new lesson series called “7 easy classical guitar songs for beginners.”

In the series, I teach beginner-level pieces with step-by-step exercises to practice them from the ground up.

Each piece features a different technique needed to bring the music alive, which you can apply to any other piece of music.

In this lesson, I’ll teach you how to play “First Exercise on the E String” by Johann Kaspar Mertz.

We’ll also explore the technique of using dynamics to be more expressive.
