To get good, really good, at ANYTHING, simply never stop practicing the fundamentals.

I'm grateful to have learned this many times over while teaching private guitar lessons.

Every time I simplify my approach to teaching or practicing, and go back to focusing on the fundamentals, that's when I see real progress. Everything else, all the fancy or flashy stuff that we get inspired by (and also distracted by), will come almost effortlessly when we constantly work on the foundational basics of any skill. This applies to business, relationships, music, athletics, etc...

It can be hard to show up everyday to work on the "boring" stuff, but it's SO worth it.
